This cake is moist, rich and delicious. All of the ingredients are already in your kitchen.
Dissolve milk and butter in sauce pan on low setting but do not boil. Mix eggs, sugar, and vanilla and set aside. Sift flour and then sift again adding baking powder. Combine flour and egg mixtures. Slowly add hot milk mixture. Bake in greased and floured 1 piece tube pan at 400 degrees for 45 minutes to one hour.
Notes:
My grandmother would make this rich cake nearly every Sunday for our family dinner. Most often we would eat it warm straight from the oven, though she would occasionally drizzle it with a sweet glaze made with orange juice. It is also yummy piled with sweet strawberries or blueberries.
