Method
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Soften cream cheese and butter then beat together. Add sugar, eggs, flour and vanilla extract then beat until smooth and set aside. Mix cake like brownies as directed on package. Pour half of brownie batter into a greased 13 X 9 pan and pour cream cheeese mixture over brownie layer. Spoon remaining brownie batter in spots over top. Swirl two mixtures together with a knife or spatula. Bake 35-40 minutes, or until done, then cool. Prepare frosting by melting butter in a medium saucepan. Stir in cocoa until dissolved. Add powdered sugar, milk and vanilla extract then stir until smooth. Add more milk, if needed, for a soft spreading consistency. Frost brownies and let set until firm then cut into squares.
