Mouth-watering Chocolate Lover's Cake

This short-cut chocolate cake, which uses cocoa powder and oil, but has no eggs, is stirred together in the pan that it will be baked in.
 

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup (Hershey's) cocoa powder (dry)
  • 2 level teaspoons soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup salad oil
  • 1 tbsp red vinegar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups cold water

Method

Mix all ingredients together in a 13x9" cake pan. Then add, in order, the oil, vinegar, vanilla, and cold water, stirring until combined. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes or until cake tests done with toothpick. Frosting suggestions: use your favorite frosting or try caramel frosting, chocolate frosting, or whipped cream.

 

Notes: This is an easy recipe and can be doubled in two pans when entertaining large groups. Your office co-workers will love this cake!
