Peanut Butter Cake

Add peanut butter to a yellow cake mix for a fun fix up everyone will love. There's even peanut butter in the frosting.
 

Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 heaping tablespoon creamy peanut butter
  • Icing:
  • 1/2 stick butter, softened
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 cup or 3 heaping tablespoons creamy peanut butter
  • 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • milk

Method

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix your cake according to directions. Add 1 heaping tablespoon of peanut butter. Beat well. Pour into a 13x9 baking pan. Bake according to package. Remove cake from oven and let cool approximately 30 minutes. Icing: Cream 1/2 stick butter, vanilla and salt together. Then add 1/4 cup peanut butter, beating well. Slowly add powdered sugar, alternating with milk. Use enough milk for icing to be of spreading consistency. Spread over cake.

 

Notes: This is another recipe that everybody seems to crave. I have made at Christmas time anywhere from 3 to 8 cakes for my friends and family.
